Email HobbieHobert "Hobbie" M. McCreary, Jr. came to Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in February of 2008. He had previously pastored Summersville Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee. Hobbie accepted Christ as Savior when he was ten years old and is the son of a Baptist minister. Hobbie graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BBA in Accounting, where he was a member of the Buccaneer basketball team, and he earned a Master of Theology degree from Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary. Before pastoring, he sang with a Southern Gospel quartet for ten years. Hobbie is married to Kathy, his college sweetheart, having just celebrated their 27th anniversary, and they have two precious daughters, Ashton, who is married to Landon, and Heather. Hobbie enjoys basketball, bicycling, fishing, reading, and ministry.
